Job Summary:
The Fabrication Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with the fabrication of metal parts and structures. This role involves analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal fabrication processes and a strong understanding of manufacturing workflows. Note: We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong aptitude and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:
● Estimate Costs: Prepare detailed estimates for machined parts, including material, labor, and overhead costs. Ensure all estimates are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
● Analyze Specifications: Review and analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of the project and determine cost factors.
● Supplier Coordination: Obtain quotes from suppliers for materials and subcontracted work. Evaluate supplier bids for accuracy and completeness.
● Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements in the manufacturing of machined parts.
● Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to clarify project requirements, answer questions, and provide updates on estimate status.
● Documentation: Maintain detailed records of estimates, project documentation, and correspondence. Update and manage the estimation database.
● Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and sales teams to ensure estimates are realistic and achievable. Provide support and input during project planning and execution.
● Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and advancements in machining technology to ensure competitive and accurate estimates. 

Qualifications:
● Experience: Previous experience as an estimator, preferably in a manufacturing environment with a focus on machined parts.
● Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
● Skills:
○ Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and manufacturing workflows.
○ Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
○ Proficiency in estimation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
○ Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
○ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
○ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
○ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:
● Office environment with occasional visits to the production floor.
● Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures when on the production floor.
● Use of personal protective equipment as required when on the production floor.
● Occasional travel to work sites.
