Maintenance Technician

Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: The Children’s Center
Pay: $20.00–$24.00 per hour/part-time, depending on experience

Position Summary

The Children’s Center is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Maintenance Technician to help ensure our facility remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for children, families, and staff. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks while ensuring the center meets all safety and childcare licensing standards.

Essential Responsibilities

● Perform general building maintenance and repairs.

● Complete routine facility inspections and preventative maintenance.

● Maintain playground equipment and outdoor play areas to ensure safety.

● Address plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and minor mechanical repairs.

● Ensure the facility complies with all safety regulations and childcare licensing requirements.

● Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff.

● Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow removal, lawn care, and other weather-related upkeep.

● Maintain maintenance records and report any major repair needs.

● Keep maintenance equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organized.

● Perform other duties as assigned to support the operation of The Children’s Center.

Qualifications

● Experience in general building maintenance or a related field preferred.

● Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.

● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, climbing, kneeling, and working both indoors and outdoors.

● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

● Dependable, organized, and self-motivated.

● Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

● Must pass all required background checks.
