Youth Sports Assistant

The Sheridan County YMCA is looking for energetic, positive, and dependable individuals who are passionate about working with youth through sports. As a Youth Sports Assistant, you'll help create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where kids learn teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and healthy habits.

What You'll Do

• Supervise youth participants in sports leagues for Pre-K through Junior High.
• Help set up and clean up sports facilities and equipment.
• Officiate games and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Assist with YMCA summer sports and science camps.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming, and positive experience for every participant.
• Build positive relationships with youth, families, volunteers, and fellow staff.
• Follow YMCA safety, child protection, and emergency procedures.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Is at least 18 years old.
• Has reliable transportation to program locations.
• Has access to a phone or other communication device.
• Enjoys working with children and serving the community.
• Has experience with basketball, soccer, youth camps, or other youth sports (preferred).
• Can work both indoors and outdoors.
• Is able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Is dependable, enthusiastic, and a positive role model.

Training Provided

The YMCA provides required training, including:

• CPR & First Aid
• Child Abuse Prevention
• Emergency & Alarm Procedures
• Abuse Risk Management
