Position Summary:
This position will be part of our vision care team.
Daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Fitting & dispensing eyewear: fitting frames to patient’s face / measuring pupillary & vertex distances.
- Technical work: repairing broken frames, adjusting eyewear for comfort, and in some cases, fabricating lenses.
- Customer service / Sales: helping customers select stylish & functional frames, lenses, and coatings based on their lifestyle needs.
- Administrative tasks: managing inventory, tracking orders, and navigating insurance coverage.
- Communicating well with optical labs, vendors, and patients.
- Basic knowledge and comfort working with different computer programs.
- Maintaining cleanliness of optical areas.
Qualifications will include, but are not limited to:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Certification (while not required, preferred- will train for ABO Certification).
- Strong interpersonal / communication skills, attention to detail & comfort with working in close proximity of patients.
- Proficiency in using precision tools for adjustments, repairs, and fabrication of lenses.
- Ability to troubleshoot & use problem solving skills.
- Have strong time management & multi-tasking skills.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Candidate must have a willingness to learn, be a reliable worker, able to take initiative & be comfortable with adaptability. Also, must have the ability to stay focused & maintain a “can-do” attitude.
- Position will include HIPAA training and requires the understanding of private & confidential information.
