SHERIDAN COUNTY BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

Open Position: Senior buildings and grounds Worker, Full-Time, M-F 8am to 5pm, Hours may flex with snow removal

Rate of Pay: $49,088.44 to $51,573.54 DOE, Grade 14

Position description: This position supervises and participates in the maintenance of county buildings and grounds.

MAJOR DUTIES:

· Snow removal

· Repairs plumbing systems.

· Unstop sewage and drain lines.

· Services air conditioning and heating units.

· Distribute janitorial supplies to county buildings.

· Mows lawns and trims weeds; shrubbery.

· Perform janitorial duties in assigned buildings; mops and vacuums floors; cleans restrooms; cleans windows; collects litter.

· Paint building interiors and exteriors.

· Maintains and repairs lawn equipment.

· Assist in the set-up for special events.

· Maintains and repairs sprinkler systems.

· Performs/documents daily functions on computer systems.

· Performs over related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:

· Knowledge of the principles and practices of building and grounds maintenance.

· Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and mechanical repair and maintenance procedures.

· Knowledge of cleaning and upkeep of buildings

· Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.

· Skill in maintenance, repair, and operation of grounds maintenance equipment.

· Skill in oral and written communication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years’ experience or service.

• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Wyoming for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
