About the role:
As a Veterinary Technician, you will be an integral part of our veterinary team, assisting veterinarians in a variety of clinical tasks. Your work will range from supporting in-surgical procedures, performing diagnostics and assisting in exams, to offering compassionate care and handling for patients. We value a team-oriented approach and a commitment to lifelong learning and problem solving.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments and surgeries.
- Administer medications, vaccinations and treatments as prescribed
- Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work, urinalysis and radiographs
- Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery
- Provide client education on preventative care, post-operative care and general wellness
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Uphold clinic standards for cleanliness and patient safety
- Share on-call duties equally with other technicians
What we're looking for:
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a veterinary technician is preferred. New grads are welcome to apply.
- Education: Completion of a veterinary technology program (certification/licensure is preferred)
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, multitasking skills and critical thinking skills
- Attributes: Compassionate team player and dedicated to patient care
- Physical requirements: Ability to handle and restrain animals, stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
