SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant helps maintain Weatherby’s headquarters including buildings, equipment, and grounds for everyday manufacturing as well as occasional company events and product testing at the nearby Flying W Ranch. Responsibilities include routine preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, landscaping, snow removal, and supporting special projects. This role requires reliability, hands-on skills, and attention to safety and quality.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Provide maintenance and repair services to ensure a clean, safe, and operational facility.
• Perform general maintenance including scheduled filter changes, HVAC and mechanical checks, fire extinguisher inspections, and miscellaneous repairs.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance to sustain reliability and functionality.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs and inspections to confirm facility readiness with production as a priority.
• Maintain outdoor areas including landscaping, snow removal, parking areas, and exterior structures.
• Handle projects or repairs requiring basic carpentry, painting, and plumbing skills.
• Assemble and set up equipment from large racking to small parts.
• Support maintenance and upkeep of facilities at both Weatherby headquarters and the Flying W Ranch.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Safely operate company vehicles for maintenance tasks or errands.
• Support general cleaning and building upkeep as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• English written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to explain complex problems to outside contractors, employees, or city officials.
• Ability to use hand tools and machine tools in building projects and repairs.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and balance urgent tasks with routine maintenance.

• Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Routinely lift and/or move up to 55 lbs; push up to 87 lbs; pull up to 130 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates across Weatherby’s headquarters facility and the Flying W Ranch, and may be exposed to weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in this environment can range from moderate to loud.
